The Sabres took some time to settle into the game as Vander Fehr weathered a heavy Stonewall attack and made several key saves early on. The Sabres opened the scoring with under two minutes to play in the first period as Hunter Crawford sent a crisp pass to the back door for Jett Bueckert to redirect home to make it 1-0. The Sabres continued to push hard in the second frame as Jevon Peters spun around in the heart of the home plate and ripped the puck top shelf where momma keeps the cookies to double the lead.
