Monday the SRSS Boys played Lorette Collegiate in zone 13 exhibition play and won 3-0
Though the game was cut short due dangerous conditions well into the 2nd half (called due to the proximity of lightening) the Sabres managed to slot home 3 nice goals. (Scorers: Owen Wiebe, Justin Hamilton, Eloghosa Emokaro) Phillip Wiebe recorded yet another "clean sheet" in goal for the Sabres.

Preseason Hockey 9/29
2025-09-30
The Steinbach Sabres Hockey team completed its 2025 preseason schedule with a home date against the Morris Mavericks on Monday afternoon in Steinbach. The Sabres got out to an early lead as Kyler Verestiuk slipped the puck through a crowd and under the unsuspecting Morris netminder. Jett Bueckert smashed home a back-door pass to double the lead halfway through the first. Daniel Schroeder wasted no time completing a tic-tac-toe play with Nate Zilinski to make it 3-0. Hunter Schamber drove the net and found twine to make it a four-goal lead heading into the second period. The Mavericks settled in as the game wore on, but it was Terran Perreault nabbing a loose puck and finding Peyton Froese on the back door for a little forehand, backhand, bar-down action to make it 5-0 after two. The Mavericks then came alive and took it to the Sabres, who found themselves in penalty trouble for the entirety of the third period. The Mavericks scored once on the powerplay, but that would be all. Final score: SRSS 5 Morris 1. Kash Amor stood tall in the win, making several timely stops. The Sabres hit the road to Morris this weekend as they look to defend their title as winners of three straight Morris Mavericks Preseason tournaments. Keep your stick on the ice!
