ORANGE SHIRT SALE

The Peace and Justice Committee, partnering with STUCO will be selling Orange Shirts to coincide with Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30th. T-shirts are designed by a local Indigenous artist, Janine Lemay-Troche and proceeds will be donated to an Indigenous organization of their choice.

When? Periods 3, 4, 5 on Monday September 16th
How much? Shirts are $14 (please bring cash)

Volunteers - Skate Canada

Do you have a passion for skating? Are you at least 16 years old. If you answered YES, then this is the opportunity for you! The Steinbach Skating Club is seeking candidates with sufficient skating backgrounds to assist in CanSkate in Steinbach. Sunday evenings from 5:30p.m. to 6:30 p.m. October 6- March 16. Interested? Special Language Exams

Are you fluent in a language other than English? You may be eligible to write the Special Language Exam at Dakota Collegiate in Winnipeg on November 4 or 5. Students interested in writing these exams should speak to their guidance counsellor prior to registering online. The cost of is $65. Information on how to make payment will be given by your guidance counsellor. Application deadline is Wednesday, October 2nd at 4:00 p.m.

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year

We want to take a moment to remind you of some of the expectations to help things run smoothly this year.

Students are required to attend all their classes as scheduled on their timetable. Changes to schedules are very rare as most classes are full. Changes must be completed by your Guidance Counsellor. You must attend all your classes until changes are official.

Hallways in Bison, Crocus, Pine, Owl and River are closed during each period. On your lunch or spare periods, you must be in the library, learning commons, cafeteria, MPR or outside. You may not hang out in stair wells or hallways. Staff members may be checking your timetable. Please be aware that you must show your timetable and provide staff with your name is requested.

Reminder that there a strong consequences for loitering or hanging out in the bathroom. Please use the bathroom, wash your hands and get out. Cell phones can not be used in the bathrooms or change rooms. No vaping or smoking on school property – inside or outside.

The Province of Manitoba has issued restrictions on cell phone and personal mobile device use in the classroom. You and your family have received an email outlining the policy. Please note that other communication devices such as tablets, e readers, smart watches, electronic toys and ear buds fall under this restriction. Each teacher will review the expectations in your classes today.

Picture Day is happening Wednesday, September 18th (Grade 9 & 11) and September 19th (Grade 10 & 12) in the Gold Gym! Please wait for your class to be called down to have your photos taken.
Parking Passes

Beginning September 9th, students can enter the Parking Pass Lottery to buy a pass in the library. The draw will be held September 13th. Please bring your valid drivers license, vehicle registration and $20 if you've been successfully drawn from the lottery.
