Skills Manitoba

Skills Canada is an organization whose purpose is to promote and support skilled trades in Manitoba and across Canada. Skills Canada holds many events during the year, however, their main event is the skills provincial and national competitions. These competitions are open to students who are enrolled in secondary and postsecondary technical-vocational programs.

Each year the SRSS sends a number of competitors from each of the vocational areas to the provincial skills competition. Students are selected by their teachers In 2016, the SRSS had four gold medal winners that went on to the national competition in Moncton, NB. Two of those competitors won national gold and another national silver.

This year’s skills provincial and national competitions will be held in Winnipeg at Red River College and the Convention Centre respectively

If you would like further details please visit Skills Manitoba or speak with your vocational teacher. Please feel to watch Skills Canada’s promotional video.
